Cultural Society of Panormos Epimenides
Our aim is to promote all the artistic creations of the young people of our region, as well as of the whole of Crete, and host the trends and currents of all the cultural sectors from other regions of Greece and abroad.
Culture is a form of social consciousness. It is a means of social self-awareness and does not include Art, Knowledge and Thinking only, but life itself in all its expressions. It reflects and shapes the system of values which determines social behaviour.
The quality of the surroundings and the environment, the protection of our cultural and architectural heritage, the preservation and promotion of monuments, the improvement of our aesthetics are not only the basis of quality development, but, in the long term, they are the prerequisite for our financial welfare.
We live in a developing area. Our economy is based on the tourist sector to a great extent. The connection of tourism with culture is the only guarantee for the real upgrading of our area.
